Meanwhile, during a raucous boys’ night out, House (Hugh Laurie), Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Foreman (Omar Epps) visit a karaoke bar and perform a Gladys Knight & The Pips classic.

Marc Blucas guest-stars in an encore episode. While on vacation in Mexico, Lightman (Tim Roth) and Emily (Hayley McFarland) become involved in the case of a missing American woman. Back home, Foster (Kelli Williams) investigates tainted blood in D.C.-area hospitals with Lightman’s rival, Jack Rader (guest star Blucas).
AMERICAN IDOL (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) – “1 of 5 Voted Off” – “FOX Rocks” Programming
This May, the AMERICAN IDOL live results shows counts down to the final two contestants. Each week, the finalist who receives the fewest votes will be eliminated from the race for the title. Tonight, the competition goes from the Top 5 to the Top 4.
Wednesday, May 12
LIE TO ME (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) – “Tractor Man”
During a political protest in Washington, D.C., a disgruntled farmer (guest star Sean Bridgers) parks his explosives-packed tractor near the Treasury Department building, forcing Lightman and his team to make some crucial life-or-death decisions in an encore episode. Meanwhile, a third-grade field trip gets stuck in the Lightman Group offices, and Loker (Brendan Hines) has to play babysitter.
AMERICAN IDOL (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) – “1 of 4 Voted Off”
In another all-new LIVE results show, the finalist who receives the fewest votes will be eliminated from the race for the title, narrowing the competition from four to three contestants.

THE GOOD GUYS (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) – Series Preview
In the special series preview of Matt Nix’s new action-comedy, THE GOOD GUYS, old-school cop Dan Stark (Bradley Whitford) and modern-day detective Jack Bailey (Colin Hanks) expose the big picture of small crime. Pursuing a routine investigation of a stolen humidifier, Jack and Dan are inadvertently thrust into a much larger case involving drug smugglers, hired assassins and a stolen green golf bag. Reminded of the way he busted punks back in the good old days, Dan convinces Jack to go along for the ride, and in their reckless pursuit of justice, the two wind up risking their lives, breaking a flurry of department regulations and reminding their boss, Lieutenant Ana Ruiz (Diana Maria Riva), and Jack’s ex-girlfriend, Assistant District Attorney Liz Traynor (Jenny Wade), why these good guys will be spending many more days investigating seemingly minor crimes.

When the body of a rich adventure-seeker is found in a hotel washing machine, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) are led to the last place he was seen – a rock-n-roll fantasy camp. The special “FOX Rocks” episode also features Booth rocking out on guitar and performing a duet with Brennan. Additionally, Josh Todd from Buckcherry guest stars in the episode.
FRINGE (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Brown Betty” – “FOX Rocks” Programming
While Walter (John Noble) deals with some upsetting news, he tells Olivia’s niece, Ella (guest star Lily Pilblad), a fairy tale that includes musical performances by Olivia (Anna Torv) and Agent Broyles (Lance Reddick).
Thursday, May 6
BONES (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) – “The Witch in the Wardrobe”
In an episode written by author Kathy Reichs, a cabin burns down in the woods revealing two bodies – one of a modern-day witch and one from the days of the Salem witch trials – leading Booth and Brennan into the world of Wicca to find a killer.
FRINGE (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Northwest Passage”
Peter teams up with Sheriff Mathis (guest star Martha Plimpton) on a serial murder investigation with ties to Newton (guest star Sebastian Roché). Meanwhile, Walter copes with the possibility of being sent back to St. Claire’s, and someone from the “other side” pays a visit.

The trial of The Gravedigger hits close to home for members of the team, and everyone at the Jeffersonian must work overtime to uncover the forensic evidence to elicit a conviction.

In part one of the two-part, two-night second season finale, Walter and Olivia travel to the parallel universe, and the anticipated face-off between Walter Bishop and William Bell occurs when special guest star Leonard Nimoy returns.

HOUSE (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Broken” – “FOX Rocks” Programming
In a special encore presentation of this season’s emotional two-hour premiere, directed by HOUSE executive producer Katie Jacobs and featuring guest stars Andre Braugher, Franka Potente and Lin-Manuel Miranda, House begins a detox program to get the vicodin out of his system to stop his powerful hallucinations once and for all. Strong-armed into staying at the facility by his attending physician, Dr. Darryl Nolan (guest star Braugher), House develops a close relationship with his new roommate, Alvie (guest star Miranda), and Lydia (guest star Potente), a frequent visitor who helps House bend the rules. House resorts to his old tricks of blackmail and manipulation, but when devastating events ensue, he is humbled into reluctantly accepting help. As part of “FOX Rocks,” House plays piano and raps alongside Alvie in the Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital’s talent show. Plus, incorporated into the encore installment is new behind-the-scenes commentary from series star Laurie.

HOUSE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) – “Lockdown”
Hugh Laurie directs and Oscar nominee David Strathairn guest-stars in an encore episode that features new exclusive episode commentary from Laurie. When a newborn disappears from the nursery, Princeton Plainsboro goes on lockdown, preventing anyone from entering, leaving or moving within the hospital. While House and hospital staff are trapped in various parts of the building, new insights about the team’s personal histories, relationships and regrets surface.
KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Fleming”
Chef Gordon Ramsay visits Fleming in Miami, FL, where a husband-and-wife team is in desperate need of help. Once a popular Danish restaurant, Fleming has been resistant to change and is now barely surviving. And after Chef Ramsay sees what’s lurking in the cooler, he is forced to shut down the restaurant in the middle of the dinner service. With a stubborn owner in denial, Ramsay is going to have to make some major changes, or Fleming will be forced to close their doors forever.

Chef Ramsay heads to PJ’s Steakhouse in Forest Hills, NJ, where husband-and-wife team Joe and Madalyn are in need of a mentor. Reeling from the loss of his brother PJ and with zero restaurant experience, Joe purchased the namesake restaurant in hopes of turning it into a high-end steakhouse. Can Chef Ramsay teach Joe and Madalyn enough Restaurant 101 so that they can honor PJ’s name and ensure the restaurant’s survival?

Wanda’s greatest wish comes true when she meets musical superstar Sade in an encore installment of late-night’s newest entry that also features a lively panel discussion with rapper MC Lyte, actor Brandon T. Jackson and comedian Greg Fitzsimmons. In addition to Sade and MC Lyte, the special “FOX Rocks” episode features the Angel City Chorale helping Wanda deliver a message to the week’s newsmakers.

Snoop Dogg guest-stars in an encore episode. Mike (Michael Strahan) and Chill (Daryl Chill Mitchell) hire their cousin Kenny (guest star Snoop Dogg), a shady lawyer who specializes in debt and fraud, to recover Mike’s laundered assets. But when Kenny is only able to locate funds donated to a children’s charity, Mike wrestles with a tough decision. Review - America The Story of US, Ep. 1 - Rebels
We Americans take ourselves for granted. As we strive to balance national pride in our accomplishments with a realistic appraisal of our problems, we tend to overlook what makes us unique to begin with and why so many others try to emulate and improve on our social, economic, and political systems, including those who once ruled us. In a country that constantly changing and creating historical moments, we also tend to teach only the key moments. The History ChannelTM's series America The Story of US strives to present both famous and obscure moments during a dozen eras of our existence.
The first episode, entitled "Rebels," accomplishes this objective. Using a fast-paced film technique, re-enactments and CGI, The Story of US is a compelling introduction to colonial history, which premieres Sunday, April 25, 9:00PM ET/PT on The History ChannelTM. An hour-long preview of the entire series debuts immediately following "Rebels" at 10:00PM ET/PT. America The Story of US will then air Sundays at 9:00PM ET/PT through Memorial Day.
We learn that John Rolfe, who married the legendary Indian princess, Pochohantas, came to Jamestown, to plant tobacco. Sounds simple, doesn't it? What we learn is that nearly all the residents of the fledgling settlement have died of starvation. One man has been executed for murdering his wife for the purpose of cannabalism. The place is hopeless.
But Rolfe risked his life to get hold of tobacco seeds, which the Spanish monopolized (the Spaniards guarded this precious commodity with a death sentence for anyone who sold the seeds). He had found his method of making a fortune providing the plant to an addicted England - if only he can get them planted. Rolfe is successful Within two years, Jamestown was, in the words of narrator Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, View from a Bridge), America's "first boomtown." Rolfe was, perhaps, America's first true entrepeneur.
We also learn that the first African Americans were not slaves, but contract workers just like Europeans and that ten percent of Boston's population in the mid-eighteenth century was African American.
A minor, but irritating mistake was calling the Pilgrims of Plymouth "Puritans." The nomenclature "Pilgrim" was created by the religious group while in exile. They were Separatists, who wished to totally break from the Church of England. Puritans were exactly that - a religious sect established to purify the existing church. Both, however, faced horrendous persecution in England, sometimes execution for their beliefs.
The series also employs famous faces to comment on the impact of the colonial era on modern America from their perspective, including Gen. Colin Powell and Donald Trump.
America: The Story of Us is documentary series implementing filmmkaing techniques that appeal to our modern visual and audio senses.

This vast new country, rich in resources, experiences rapid change in trade, transport and manufacturing, quickly turning America into one of the wealthiest nations on Earth. New York booms, the factory town of Lowell becomes the cradle of the American industrial revolution, and in the South, with the invention of the cotton gin, cotton is king. But President Abraham Lincoln is fighting a very different kind of war – one of technological innovation and military centralization. It’s a war that General Lee can’t even see. Lincoln uses the rail network, the telegram, supply lines, and even advances in battlefield medicine and the media to mobilize men and machines as never before to fight the world’s first technological war. As the battle reaches its bloody climax at Atlanta the industrial capacity of the North is harnessed as Lincoln declares “Total War.” With General William Sherman’s March to the Sea, the South is definitively crushed. The industrial might that sees the Union prevail now leaves America poised to explode into the 20th century as a global superpower.
Heartland

In 1869 the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of America, more than two thousand miles apart, are linked by continuous metal rails. The Transcontinental Railroad – the world’s first – is the most ambitious human enterprise since the Great Wall of China, and much of it is built by Chinese laborers. The railroad doesn’t just change the lives of Americans, it alters the entire ecology of the continent, and there are casualties. The vast Plains, where buffalo roam and Native Americans civilizations flourish, become home to farmers who build houses of grass – until daring loggers in the North drive lumber down the rivers to build the new homes and cities of the Midwest. It’s the railroad that creates a new American icon – the cowboy – who trails cattle thousands of miles to meet the railheads and bring food to the East. But a simple new invention will change the lives of settlers, cowboys and Native Americans: barbed wire. Steel rails and now steel wire parcel up the Plains. In less than a quarter of a century, the heartland is transformed – not by the gun, but by railroad, fence, and plow.

Between 1880 and 1930, nearly 24 million new immigrants arrive in America. Many go to work building a new frontier: the modern city, and one of America’s greatest inventions. The high cost of land in cities like New York and Chicago means the only way to build is up. A new kind of building, the skyscraper, is made possible by steel. Produced on a massive scale by Scottish immigrant Andrew Carnegie, steel production underpins the infrastructure of the modern city. This new urban frontier draws rural migrants and newly arrived immigrant workers. For many, the Statue of Liberty is their first sight of the New World and Ellis Island is the gateway to the American Dream. The lawless city offers opportunities for many, astronomical wealth for a few. Police chief Thomas Byrnes uses his violent new innovation, “the third degree,” to keep a lid on crime. The millions flocking to urban areas often experience terrible conditions in disease-ridden tenements. Jacob Riis, photographer and reformer, brings their plight to the world with his groundbreaking photographs in the book “How the Other Half Lives.” Workers in new high rise factories become urban martyrs in New York City’s Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire, as the city struggles to make these new buildings safe. Powered by steel and electricity, the city begins to be tamed and defined by mass transportation, stunning skylines, electric light...and the innovative, industrious American spirit.

In 1910 California, a column of oil nearly 200 feet high explodes out of a derrick and sets off a chain of events that will turn America into a superpower. Oil production doubles overnight and prices plummet from $2 to 3 cents a barrel. Quick to capitalize on this abundant cheap fuel is Henry Ford, a maverick entrepreneur who vows to bring the motor car to the masses. In 1900 there are 8,000 cars in the country. By 1930 there are over 20 million. As the population becomes more mobile, the entire shape of America changes. Cities grow as centers of industry, creating new opportunities, and new challenges. In one of the greatest engineering projects of the century, thousands of workers divert enough water hundreds of miles across a desert to quench sprawling Los Angeles’ thirst. Mass production and job opportunities prompted by the First World War draw African Americans to northern cities like Chicago, but racial conflict follows. Many Americans see the burgeoning cities as havens of vice, and chief among them is drink. A popular campaign to ban alcohol succeeds, yet when it comes, Prohibition triggers a wave of organized crime. One man set to benefit is Al Capone. He makes the equivalent of $1,500 a minute from bootleg alcohol. For a time he seems untouchable. But even he is not above the law.

In October 1929, the Twenties boom crashes on Wall Street. Between 1929 and 1932, $2 billion in deposits evaporate. The American Dream has become a nightmare. The Crash coincides with the start of the Great Depression. Unemployment rises to more than one-fourth of the workforce and as confidence in U.S. banks disintegrates, bank closures sweep the nation. On the Great Plains, economic difficulties are compounded by natural disaster. Years of intensive plowing and severe drought dry out the land. Vast dust storms fill the skies and drive people west. Inaugurated in the depths of the depression, new president Franklin D. Roosevelt starts to turn things around. The New Deal and public works projects save America from despair and destitution. The construction of the Hoover Dam and Mount Rushmore employs thousands of men and signals recovery and hope for the future. However, world conflict is brewing in Europe – brought home to Americans by the symbolic boxing match between Joe Louis and Max Schmeling.
WWII

It is 1939 and while war breaks out in Europe, America remains mired in a ten-year depression. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor brings America into world war, changing the nation from an isolationist continent to a global player – and ensuring economic prosperity once more. America launches a war effort – and as always, bigger is better. The nation taps into the vast manufacturing reserves that have been idle for ten years: factories, electrical plants, railroads. The war gives jobs to seven million unemployed, half of them women nicknamed “Rosie the Riveters.” By 1944, the U.S. is producing 40% of the world’s armaments, having developed the jeep, radar, and Norden bombsight. The might of America’s strategy and supplies turns the tide of war. The U.S. Air Force launches pioneering daylight bombing raids over occupied Europe in B-17 bombers. Under the command of General Dwight Eisenhower, D-Day is an astonishing success. In 1945, war in the Pacific is brought to a close by the ultimate piece of technology, the atomic bomb. A new world order has been created – and America has changed forever.

These two episodes look at the defining moments from 1945 onwards and trace them back to their antecedents in earlier American history. Some of America’s most prominent faces share their ideas on the definitive moments in American history, and reflect on what has made us who we are. This turbulent period, so recent in memory, also shines a light on what is best and most inspiring about being American. We tell the story of post-war America, including the building of the interstate highways and suburbia, the tensions of the Cold War, the euphoria of the Civil Rights movement, hippies and counterculture, the dark hours of Vietnam and Watergate, the Reagan era, Silicon Valley and the groundbreaking election of Barack Obama. Following the theme of technological innovation throughout the series we’ll look at how the U.S. landed humans on the moon and contributed to enormous technological inventions like the Internet. But above all, we’ll look at what has endured through 400 years in the American character.

Beverly Wilshire, Los Angeles, CA A public art event by ArtLumiere has transformed the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel, Los Angeles, CA, celebrating America's past and promoting AMERICA THE STORY OF US, an epic 12-hour television event and national educational initiative covering 400 years of American history, which will premiere on HISTORY(TM) on Sunday, April 25, 9PM ET/PT with new episodes airing on Sundays through Memorial Day.

During the week leading up to the series premiere of America: The Story of Us, several landmark buildings will be transformed into scenes from America's past.
The Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons' Hotel (Wilshire Blvd. & Rodeo Dr.), at the main concourse of NYC's famed Grand Central Terminal, and Washington D.C.’s historic Union Station will feature such scenes as a log cabin, a modern city-scape, a glass-paneled palace, or buffalo roaming around the Great Plains.
The "light shows" at these locations begins Monday, April 19 and continues through Sunday, April 25.
The historical images were hand painted by ArtLumiere and created to fit the exact contours of Grand Central Terminal, and are so vibrant and clear that they give the impression the main concourse has been painted. The highly-advanced projection technology used to create the effect was invented and used exclusively by ArtLumiere, a New York-based company created by French-born artist Lucette de Rugy.
America: The Story of Us premieres April 25 at 9:00PM ET on The History Channel, and continues through Memorial Day.
